About the LOST DOG CafÉ

(click to jump to Café photos or Deli photos)

The Deli and Café contain many pictures of formerly homeless dogs who have been adopted to good homes.

The Lost Dog Café, located at 5876 Washington Blvd. in Arlington, VA, has rescued, sponsored and placed hundreds of abandoned and unwanted animals over the past 13 years.

In the spring of 2001, the owners of the Café, Pam McAlwee and Ross Underwood, decided to increase the number of animals saved by forming their own rescue foundation. This is how the Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation came to exist. Many dogs who have been displaced or saved from shelters live at the Lost Dog Ranch in Sumerduck, VA until they can find homes.

The decor of the Lost Dog Café and Gourmet Pizza Deli is a dog-lover's dream. In addition to many small portraits of saved dogs, the cafe diplays many large, colorful, whimsical dog-themed murals. It will take many visits to sample the entire menu, and just as many to discover and appreciate the extensive decor.
